2019 NoVA racial housing data twitter graphic (4)This year, with support from the Meyer Foundation, CHACE has begun to develop materials that highlight the relationship between race and housing status.  The legacy of racial discrimination, supported by public policy, has created significant disparities in housing status between black and white households across Virginia.   A fact sheet illustrating some of these disparities in Northern Virginia can be viewed by clicking here.  The five housing initiatives supported by CHACE in 2019 will directly affect these disparities but as we move forward, it will be important to shape intentional programs and policies to address the housing legacy of discrimination in all of our communities,  in our state and across the nation.

Stay tuned for more information from CHACE about housing and race in Virginia.
